Hauta/Kouta are songs mainly sung by geishas at parties held at ryoteis (high class restaurants) by rich merchants, high ranked samurai officers and other patrons.
Then please listen to “Yakko-san” and “Naramarukuzushi”.

“Yakko-san”
Yakko is the lowest ranked servant of samurai families. This song tells about Yakko’s daily life.

“Naramarukuzushi”
Most of the Hauta/Kouta tell romantic stories but this song tells about the tragedy of 47 ronin, who claimed correction of misjudgement of the Shogun at their lives.
